Have you heard about the one second beer ad that will be aired this Sunday on the Super Bowl? I think it's a pretty smart idea. Already the buzz around this beer ad has probably paid off. The commercial itself will not likely be worth the money the beer company paid, but all the publicity around why a beer company would buy a one second ad is sure paying dividends right now!
With Super Bowl Ads running several million dollars for a 30 second spot, it's looking like this beer company was pretty smart. Buy a one second ad and get all the publicity while not paying through the keester like other companies.
And do you know which beer company it is? It is our old friends at Miller beer. Either the tough times have taken them down a notch or they have some pretty smart PR people with some gonads to be brave enough to try a one second ad on the Super Bowl.
Miller High Life stated that with the current economic climate, it wouldn't be wise for them to spend up to 3 million for a 30 second ad. It went on to say that Miller High Life, like many of its customers, strives to make common sense decisions. I'd have to say buying a one second ad during the Super Bowl is pretty smart.
